OBJECTIVE
- Find any related project about quadruped robot.
- Study the findings and make a benchmarks.
METHODOLOGY
- Search any related project about quadruped robot from the internet.
- Study and understand the past project to make benchmarks for my Final Year Project.
- Consult my supervisor for any suggestion on doing benchmarks.
- Make a simplification of the findings and present in this week result.
RESULT
From the research on the internet from the website http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Spider-RobotQuad-robot-Quadruped/. This website shows a lot of information regarding quadruped robot such as how to design, build and what component need to use. The design is based from electronic and software engineer name Regis Hsu.
Figure 1: This is the main component that use which is arduino pro mini, sg90 servo motor, power bank, and a voltage regulator.
Figure 2: The body and legs is made up using 3D printed
Figure 3: Picture of how Regis Hsu assemble the robot
Figure 4: The connection of the servo motors to arduino pro mini
The robot however is not using a wifi module thus it is not an IoT base. Another website that found was how to program a quadruped robot with arduino.
https://makezine.com/2016/11/22/robot-quadruped-arduino-program/.
From this website, the information to study and learn how to program a quadruped robot using arduino is very helpful.
ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION
From the websites that found, the information that obtained from Regis Hsu is very helpful. The design and components that used is easy to learn and understand. However, his project does not using wifi module thus it does not use the internet of thing (IoT) platform. The programming from the other website is quite similar that been use by Regis Hsu for his robot. The programming code can be learn from the website.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the objectives of this week blog is achieve completely. Both of the website that research is very helpful. Thus, it is my benchmarks for my Final Year Project.
